Make your pumpkin bunting
Cut out each flag, punch the marked holes and thread onto string. Hang indoors, out of reach of young children.
It's a small 3D paper decoration
The long rectangles are the pumpkin's curved ribs. Once joined and spread out, they form a hollow, rounded pumpkin—not a flat label or an origami fold.
You need: paper or light card, scissors, a hole punch and two split-pin paper fasteners. The green rectangle is the stem tab.
- Cut the eight long strips and the green stem tab. Punch the marked circles.
- Stack the strips. Put one fastener through all the bottom holes.
- Bend the stack into a loop. Join all the top holes with the second fastener, adding the stem tab.
- Gently spread the strips evenly around the middle to make a ball. Bend the stem tab upwards.
- For a jack-o-lantern, cut the optional face pieces from page two and glue them across the front ribs.
The printed sheet is the cutting template. The picture above shows what you are making. Adults should handle small fasteners.
Grown-ups should help with cutting and hole punching.
